Item Description
2". No maker. In 1968 SCLC headed by Dr. Martin Luther King was planning a major demonstration in Washington D.C. In the midst of planning King went to Memphis to participate in a sanitation workers strike and was assassinated. The demonstration went on as planned and this button was one of several varieties produced for it. This is the rarest of those varieties and features a horse drawn wagon at center. Faint scattered moisture spotting seen in white field. Tiny and stable cello separation at 12 o'clock that does not affect display. Fine. Rare.
