Item Description
5-5/8x5-5/8" octagonal plate. Made in England, early 1930s. Plate features wonderful scene of Mickey Mouse playing piano in jungle as tiger cub sits on top of piano. Both are shocked by the appearance of a large ape, who attempts to play piano. Text at top reads "Mickey's Uninvited Guest" and small "Walter E. Disney" name appears under piano bench. Traditional Paragon accents appear on rim and underside has company mark. Slightest trace of wear to blue rim accent, but o/w remains totally bright, clean and glossy. Exc. All Paragon china is highly sought after and while we have offered this design twice before as a saucer, this is the only example of this particular design on a plate we've offered in our 58 years (this very plate sold in our July 2015 auction). One of the scarcest designs.
