Item Description
5.5x8.5". Dated September 28, 1974. Reagan's signature in blue ink at bottom center. Scherle was a Congressman from 1967-1975 until his defeat in the 1974 election to Tom Harkin. The 1974 midterm elections marked a major Democratic victory as Republicans lost nearly 50 seats in the House of Represenatives in the wake of the Watergate scandal and Nixon's resignation.
