Item Description
1.5” w/Bastian back paper. Wanamaker's went the extra mile and produced this in the uncommon 1.5" size as a give-away for Christmas probably c. 1911-12. Santa pilots his toy laden, very primitive bi-wing airplane superimposed over Wanamaker’s famous headquarters at Juniper and Market Streets. We've dubbed this the "Style B" design as the building structures are much more elaborate than Style A. Style B top roof includes two flags on poles, two small structures w/roofs and three skylights. There are other small design details that differ on the two buttons. Button surface has microscopic normal wear, all but invisible to the naked eye. Button is Exc. This is the scarcer of the two styles. We’ve offered about five of this style in our 58 years. Rare and desirable Santa button.
