5.5x8-3/8" softcover features "The Spirit Of 76" cover by Will Eisner (1917-2005) featuring the cast from his beloved The Spirit comics juxtaposed as characters from Archibald Willard's famous patriotic painting The Spirit Of '76 (aka Yankee Doodle) making for a wonderful cover to celebrate the 1976 bicentennial. Front cover has been boldldy signed in black felt tip pen by Eisner alongside image of The Spirit. Cover was signed July 20, 2001 at that year's San Diego Comic-Con. Book shows wear from use and has some scattered handling creases and lt. surface soiling (crease and some lt. soiling by Eisner's signature) as well as heavy creases to spine from use. Scattered aging and soiling to interior pages. Fine overall. Comes w/JSA COA. Duke Caldwell Collection.
