Item Description
2-5/8x3.75". The 1953 Topps Baseball set consists of 274 cards.
James Hoyt Wilhelm, nicknamed "Old Sarge", was an American Major League Baseball pitcher with the New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox, California Angels, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Dodgers between 1952 and 1972. Wilhelm was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1985. The autograph is strong and well placed in the bottom middle front of the card and doesn't impede the image on the card. A review of the PSA/DNA pop report indicates that this signed copy is the only one graded at this level with only two others ever graded higher.
