Item Description
1.75" shows the son of Chief White Eagle. Horse Chief Eagle became the last hereditary Chief of the Ponca tribe. This button and at least two w/other Ponca tribe members relate  to an event held to impress a national convention of newspaper editors and took place on the 101 Ranch in Bliss, Oklahoma held June 11, 1905. The history of this amazing event (attended by Geronimo under guard)  can be found on the internet. The favorable publicity following the event catapulted the 101 Ranch into the forefront of entertainment spectaculars. Reverse has covered metal back, still w/40% silver luster,  with stamp of St. Louis Button Co. Vertical stickpin fastener. Cello has a couple tiny, raised dots but little wear. High gloss, no fade and NM. Our third. Rare.
