Item Description
1.25” w/  W&H back paper. Text: “7th Biennial Convention B. Of L.E. 1900 Des Moines, Iowa.” Superb art  showing an uniformed  locomotive fireman with one hand on the  chain of a firebox door and the other on a coal shovel handle.  Debs himself was a locomotive fireman as a youth and in 1880 became Grand Secretary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and editor the union magazine. By the 1890’s he was a founding member of several socialist parties and in 1900, the year of this convention of his union brothers, he made his first of five presidential runs. Only our third example we've offered. Clean w/ only minor wear. NM. Rare.
