Item Description
5.25x2-1/16". An innovative issue for 1951, the Topps team cards were a nine-card set, which carry a black-and-white picture of a major league team surrounded by a yellow border on the front. The back identifies team members with red printing on white cardboard. There are two versions of each card, with and without the date (1950" in the banner that carries the team name. Undated versions are valued slightly higher than the cards with dates. Strangely only nine teams were issued. Scarcity varies, with the Cardinals and Red Sox being the most difficult to obtain.

Notable members of team include Hall of Famers Red Shoendienst, Stan Musial and Enos Slaughter. Also included is four time World Series Champion William Russell Johnson.
