Item Description
17x21" double page spread (consisting of two DC Comics/Vertigo/WildStorm artboards) features pen and ink original art for pages 18-19 of Promethea #18, published by DC as part of their WildStorm imprint in June 2001. Art is by longtime Promethea artist (and co-creator) J.H. Williams III w/inks by Mick Gray. Double page spread features large splash panel across top and total of eight panels (counting splash panel). Art shows Promethea along w/previous Promethea Barbara Shelley being guided through Yesod to the lunar realm by the spirits of Baron Munchausen and Lucian, where they part company at the Kabbalah train station. Top margin features note to Gray that reads "Mick Please Have Lots Of Twinkling Stars - Thanks" which Gray wonderfully provided to top splash panel. Promethea appears in all but one panel. Artboards have inked title/issue/page numbers at top and are attached w/tape on back at center (now only partially attached towards bottom w/piece of masking tape). Backs of both artboards have WildStorm copyright inkstamps. Art is clean and Exc. Wonderful example of Promethea's experimentation of visual design.
