1-3/8x1.75" embossed brass frame holds tintype portrait. c. 1860s. Reverse reads "Maj. General Benj. F. Butler of Massachusetts." Some surface loss on paper on reverse. Image of Butler is dark. Moderate wear, most notably tiny scattered crazing, on portrait surface. Only seen in reflected light. Fine.
