Item Description
1.5x2.25" Cuban card produced for the Aguilitas Cigarette brand and a follow up to the 1924-25 series. The baseball cards are a subset featuring 37 players from the Cuban Professional League. This extensive 900 card set also featured movie and stage stars, boxers, soccer players and other subjects.
Fernandez was a four-decade player in the Negro Leagues who also set a longevity mark in his native Cuba. His 24 seasons as a player in the Cuban Winter League is the all-time record. He was inducted into the Cuban Baseball HOF in 1965.
