Item Description
1.5x2.25" Cuban card produced for the Aguilitas Cigarette brand and a follow up to the 1924-25 series. The baseball cards are a subset featuring 37 players from the Cuban Professional League. This extensive 900 card set also featured movie and stage stars, boxers, soccer players and other subjects.
Acosta was a starting pitcher in the MLB, playing three seasons for the Chicago White Sox and Washington Senators and played winter baseball in the Cuban League from 1912 to 1930, leading the league in winning percentage five times. Inducted into the Cuban Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1958.
