For the second consecutive season, a Cuban League baseball card set was produced to promote Caramelo Deportivo. This second series expanded the number of cards included to 185 w/each measuring 1-7/8x2.5". Card fronts feature a bw photo. Card backs identify the player and supply their Cuban League affiliation. In addition, a candy ad appears on back bottom. Thin paper stock as well as the issuance of an album for these to be mounted in account for the prominently lesser conditions whenever these rarities are found.

Alejandro Eloy Carrasquel Aparicio (1912 - 1969)  became the first Venezuelan-born player to ever appear in the majors when he joined the Senators in its 1939 season. He is also known as one of the handful of major leaguers who jumped from their organized baseball teams to play in the Mexican League in 1946. Carrasquel was inducted into the Venezuelan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.
