Item Description
For the second consecutive season, a Cuban League baseball card set was produced to promote Caramelo Deportivo. This second series expanded the number of cards included to 185 w/each measuring 1-7/8x2.5". Card fronts feature a bw photo. Card backs identify the player and supply their Cuban League affiliation. In addition, a candy ad appears on back bottom. Thin paper stock as well as the issuance of an album for these to be mounted in account for the prominently lesser conditions whenever these rarities are found.

Jim LaMarque was a Negro League pitcher for the Kansas City Monarchs from 1941-51 as well as pitching in the Mexican League in 1950. Top pitcher on the 1946 Monarchs pitching staff that won the Negro American League pennant and followed that up with a World Series victory.
