Item Description
1-7/16x2-5/8". The 1909-1911 T206 series consists of 524 distinctly different "White Border" player cards. This set is considered to be synonymous with the term "tobacco card" and has a total of 16 different varieties of backs making it one of the most expansive and difficult sets in the hobby to complete. This card is widely considered to be a Tris Speaker rookie card.
Tristram Edgar Speaker nicknamed "the Gray Eagle", was an American professional baseball player. Considered one of the greatest players in the history of Major League Baseball (MLB), he compiled a career batting average of .345 (sixth all-time). His 792 career doubles represent an MLB career record. His 3,514 hits are fifth on the all-time hits list. Defensively, Speaker holds career records for assists, double plays, and unassisted double plays by an outfielder. His fielding glove was known as the place "where triples go to die." Tris Speaker was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1937.
