Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8". Postcard with crystal clear ballplayer composite images depicting 23 team members of the 1926 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, including a total of six future National Baseball Hall of Famers: player/manager Rogers Horsby, Grover Alexander, Jim Bottomley, Jesse Haines, Billy Southworth and Chick Hafey. All ballplayers are identified below their respective portraits. The 1926 Cardinals finished in first place in the National League with a regular season record of 89-65-2 before taking on the dynastic American League champion New York Yankees, defeating them in a thrilling seven game World Series. This amazing team was led by all-time great MLB second baseman, Rogers Hornsby winner of two triple crowns, two MVP awards and seven-time batting titlist. Production credit on back reads "The Process Photo Studios - Troy at 21st St., Chicago, Ill." Excellent eye appeal for this unused vintage baseball treasure.
