9x21x6.5" deep box contains first US issue 19.5" tall hard plastic figure by Mattel. ©1977 Toho Co. Ltd. No. 2440. Made in Japan on foot. Box shows moderate aging/wear. Some creasing at top and bottom of lid and a few small edge tears. No inserts in box. Box is scarce. Displays VG. Figure is realistically designed to resemble the "King Of The Monsters." Figure can be pushed along on wheeled feet, has movable arms including spring-loaded firing fist and lever on back of head to operate extendable fire-like tongue that extends from mouth. First issue figure has weights inside of legs to make figure more stable, brighter red paint accents around eyes & mouth, molded in a brighter green plastic, hole in tail to attach it has a catch on bottom edge and shooting fist is slightly smaller. Figure has lt. aging/wear. Complete w/fist and tail. Figure displays nicely. VF.
