Box contains 14" tall "Growing Monster" by Mattel, featuring an innovative design allowing the change in Krusher's size. This was affected by opening the unique valve on the back of the monster's belt, Krusher's durable, foam body crumpled to a smaller size. The crumples state was held in check by closing the valve. When reopened, Krusher slowly "grew" back to his original size. While not a hot seller upon its initial release, the character's wonderful design and nostalgic commercials of the era have led to Krusher becoming one of the most sought after late 1970s toys among collectors. Qualified. AFA case has scattered hairline scratches to top/bottom case, sold as is. At time of cataloging, only five examples in total have been graded by AFA according to current AFA Population Report, w/only one example in an AFA 75+ grade (three higher).
