Item Description
1.75", no maker. Action photo set within a baseball design, all done in blue tone. A companion button was made but in bw and w/text of just his/team names. The one offered here also reads “Pennant Winners/1924 B.B. Club.” Has fabric ribbon attachment (some aging and few pinholes). The 1924 Washington Senators won the American League pennant with a final record of 92-62 under future Hall of Fame manager Bucky Harris. Leading the mound corps was all-time great hurler, Walter Johnson, who fashioned one of his greatest seasons with a record of 23-7 along with an ERA of 2.72 and 158 strikeouts. Washington would go on to dispose of the New York Giants in seven exciting games to take the 1924 World Series. Walter was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. Lt. trace of wear only seen upon close inspection. Glossy and Exc. (w/VG ribbon). Rare, only the second we’ve offered in our 58 years.
