Item Description
Pair of 8.5x11" letters on "Macy's Superman Adventure" letterhead (w/image of Superman flying). Letter dated Oct. 25, 1940 notes participation in "'Superman Day'" at the New York World's Fair and issued complimentary admission tickets. Letter dated Dec. 1940 was sent out to apologize for Superman show cancellation/delay and issued complimentary rain check tickets (not included). Both letters bear sponsor names at bottom, including - Superman Inc., Journal American and WOR Radio 710 on both and addition of Leader Novelty on Oct. letter. Both have been folded as mailed but o/w Exc. Comes w/2.5x4" "Complimentary Admission" ticket stub for show (dated Nov. 16-20, 1940) at New York City Macy's Toyland. Stub features iconic image of Superman at left w/"©Superman, Inc." text. Ticket has been stamped "E-M HS" in red ink on stub portion. Small spot of tape staining on back, but o/w Exc.
