1.25" w/original D.C. Gallett advertising back paper. Sepia toned real photo design w/Rough Rider portrait and text "Gov. Roosevelt At Aberdeen S.D. Sept. 13th 1900" above and "A Souvenir From D. C. Gallett Jewelry & Optician".  Roosevelt capped a busy day of campaigning by train in Aberdeen, SD leading a torchlight parade of over 380 marchers and 100 men on horseback. The open-air address that followed saw reports of 6,000 gathered and covered the topics of labor and trusts. Not to miss an opportunity to advance his business local jeweler D.C. Gallett seized on the opportunity w/this special souvenir button. The back paper reads in part "The reliable Jewler and Optician, invites you to call and see his large stock of DIAMONDS, WATCHES, RINGS, etc." Minor surface wear in reflected light. Exc.
