Item Description
14-1/4x20" w/Bindweed Press at lower right. Promoting a Fillmore Auditorium concert on Sunday, Nov. 6, 1966, put on by "Associated Students Of San Fransico State College". Among the most popular non-BG/FD psychedelic posters of the era and among the lowest print runs w/some estimates as low as only 250. Art by Stanley Mouse and signed in gold marker in the lower black field. Poster is graded and encapsulated by CGC 9.2 NM-. Grace Slick had only joined the Airplane three weeks prior to this concert, and the band was in the midst of recording their second studio album Surrealistic Pillow that wouldn't be released till Feb. of 1967. They were in the throes of pioneering psychedelic rock at the time of this concert on the path of leadership in the Summer of Love and cementing iconic status. They are the only band to play at all three of the era's touchstone rock festival events, Monterey Pop, Woodstock & Altamont, and performed sets at the Human Be-In and the first Isle of Wright.
