Item Description
Glossy 8.5x12.75" single-sided printer's proof features 13 different designs for Vari-Vue Captain Action ring images. Printed in two registers to be activated w/special plastic covering, each image was combination of two distinct images. These include - Captain Action w/Captain Action "CA" symbol as well as Captain Action w/Superman, Batman, Lone Ranger, Tonto, Aquaman, Steve Canyon, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, The Phantom, Green Hornet, Captain America and Spider-Man. These rings would be packaged w/Ideal's Captain Action uniform/equipment sets. Sheet has some scattered handling wear w/some surface impressions at lower right. VF/Exc. overall. Rare. Comes w/Vari-Vue 2.5" dia. promotional button features a flicker features showing a selection of characters as seen on the printer's proof. Vari-Vue name on tin litho back along w/"By Pictorial Productions Inc." text. Images include Captain Action w/Phantom, Captain America, Superman, Batman, Green Hornet and Spider-Man. Some rippling to plastic cover w/tiny paint flakes to painted tin collet. Back appears to have portion painted over as made. Fine/VF overall. Scarce.
