Item Description
13.5x30" poster for the 1979 Australian release (Hoyts Distribution) of John Carpenter's 1978 slasher film starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence. Responsible for launching one of the greatest slasher film franchises of all time, Halloween is consistently ranked among the most important horror films of the 1970s. Poster features eerie image of the film's masked slasher - Michael Myers - w/"The Trick Is To Stay Alive" and "Everyone Is Entitled To One Good Scare" taglines. Poster was printed slightly off-register, giving an almost 3D effect to text. This is not overly distracting. Originally folded, poster has been linen-mounted w/some margin restoration, repairing small hole at bottom center and expertly blending the two horizontal fold lines. Displays Exc. as linen-mounted.
