Item Description
10.75" tall x 8.5". "Songs for Wallace" published by PEOPLE'S SONGS w/Pete Seeger as Associate Editor. Bold linocut cover portrait by California Labor School instructor Giacomo Patri, in the style made famous in Thomas Hart Benton's working class hero print series of the time. Paul Robeson, himself famous for his Negro Spiritual, work appears in portrait bottom right - first page. 12pgs (including covers) song sheets curated for use at political rally. "Farmer - Labor Train" was written by Woody Guthrie. Scarce & exciting artifact documenting the confluence of musical influencers working w/ the Progressive Party's campaign. Bend to bottom left corner w/pinholes at corners & occasional dogear pages. This saw careful use & displays above it's technical grade. Fine.
