Item Description
Bilingual 13.75x18-3/8" Candian flat dates to 1966 and features back panel advertisement for Tintin and Snowy "Wiggly" figures, part of a series of 10 offered as Quaker box inserts in Canada. These Canadian-only figures were refered to as "Wiggly" instead of "Wiggle" as in the US and also features slightly different design in that figures are solid plastic instead of hollow. Figures also differ in that instead of spring, figures' heads are connected w/thin strip of plastic w/support pieces meant to be discarded. Figures feature slightly different poses as well. While only Tintin and Sandy Wiggly figures were issued in boxes of Tintin P'Tits Trésors (Little Treasures), side panel shows the other eight figures that were issued in boxes of Capitaine Crouche (Cap'n Crunch), Tintin, Quisp and Quake - Seadog, Brunhilde, Cap'n Crunch, Alfie, Quisp and his archenemy Simon LeGreedy, Quake and his mother Mother Lode. Flat has been folded and has strips of aged tape/tape staining on front w/tape and surface paper lifts on back. VG/Fine overall. Rare and the only such example we've offered in our 58 years. Comes w/complete set of 10 Canadian-only premium figures; all in blue w/exception of orange Snowy. Snowy is loose while all others remain factory-sealed in original cellophane bags; though Cap'n Crunch bags have some splits. All are complete, unused and Mint w/plastic parts still on sprues. Crunch figures (see following lot) are scarce while others are rare w/only a few known examples. An incredible cereal rarity fromt he Great White North, often missing from even the most advanced collections. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold.
