Item Description
Lot of two, each is 1.5". No maker. Great portrait photos of Bostock at center surrounded by small circles containing animal photos, all but one are "Big Cats." One has darker images, this one includes an elephant. The other, w/lighter image as made, features all cats. Some images are same from button to button, others are different and both have different configurations in general. Bostock was an English entrepreneur and animal trainer, who represented the touring section of the Bostock and Wombwell Menagerie. He toured Europe and America and in the latter he was known as "The Animal King". Both buttons have lt. surface wear only seen in reflected light. Both are glossy and Exc. Both are scarce. One w/elephant is Ex-Hake Collection and the plate example from Collectible Pin-Back Buttons Book. Comes w/Hake's COA.
