Item Description
22x28" on card stock. Original charcole cartoon signed in print "H.K." at lower right and having applied portrait of "Herman Kruschke, A Machanical Genius" at bottom left. Image depicts "Teddy" carrying a lump of coal twords a weary devil w/his feet in a tub of water. To TR's right is a bottle of "Coal Barons Coneer Drops" and caption reads "Cheer Up, Cheer Up, Cheer Up, Poor Devil We Are Going To Have Coal Yet." a reference to the 1902 anthracite coal strike and subsequent shoratge. Scattered moisture marks and age toning. Small hole affecting desgin in water tube. VG. Unique and w/size to give it presence on a display room wall once framed. Rex & Patti Stark Collection.
