Item Description
9.25x12" display board has 4.75x4.75" thin artboard affixed w/clear plastic corner mounts. Artboard features pen and ink original art w/image within 3.75" dia. circle. Art depicts the lead character from Billy DeBeck's long-running Barney Google And Snuffy Smith comic strip w/hand-lettered "Barney Google" name below art and "Copr. 1946 King Features Syn. Inc." hand-lettered text along top. Art remains clean and Exc. Back of display includes separate 4.75" square sheet of onionskin paper w/red/fleshtone colors which, when placed over the bw art, provides the colors for the finished button. Margins of this sheet are mounted w/.25" wide strips of double-sided tape at top/bottom to acetate sheet that can be removed from back and placed over art. Paper has a few thin ripple lines w/vertical fold at center, but these do not detract visually. Unique and historic button art. Comes w/example of the pin in custom case for display. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold.
