Item Description
19x29” on thin stock. Promoting a concert “Tuesday, Sept. 15” featuring “long John Baldry And The Hoochie Coochie Men With Rod ‘The Mod’ Stewart”. Hype text throughout includes “Authentic Rhythm And Blues” headline and in small text at bottom “It’s Modsville At Bluesville”. Scattered edge restoration and minor touch ups by Chameleon Restoration. Faint even age and light handling. Displays VF. Baldry was influential in Stewart’s career giving him a job as a backup singer in The Hoochie Coochie Men in 1964 after discovering Stewart busking on a railway platform in Twickenham. This poster from the onset of his carrer is among the earliest we have encountered. A rare Rod Stewart artifact from the onset of his metoric rise to fame.
