12.5” long unopened mesh stocking contains an interesting assortment of items. Visible through the mesh on one side are two Popeye cards from the Whitman BLB series of strip cards (see previous seven lots). The two-card strip is intact and cards are #s 71 and 72, both picturing Popeye. Visible on the opposite side is one of the Popeye comic folders issued by Orbit Gum Co. This is #15 from the set of 30 and features Popeye and Wimpy on the cover. Other items include "Mother Goose" cardboard box featuring Little Miss Muffet and Curly Locks, two tin sand molds (one w/some oxidation), miscellaneous paper items. Bottom edge of mesh has a 1.5" split but all contents remain intact and as issued. Still displays as Exc. An interesting item for the non-sport and Popeye collectors.
