Item Description
11x17" offset print on uncoated white stock made before the show. PNW flyer promoting Sub Pop's legendary Lame Fest at Moore Theater on Friday, June 9, 1989 featuring Mudhoney, Tad and Nirvana. Over the top Sub Pop speak at left reads "Presenting Seattle's Lamest Bands In A One Night Orgy Of Sweat And Insanity!" If this poster could talk it would clearly have some stories w/loss at right affecting design, holes from burns and clearly posted for promotion and then some. Many among the nascent grunge scene thought Sub Pop was crazy to book the larger Moore Theater for an all local band lineup but the gig sold out and proved to be a watershed moment in music history. This night served as the record release party for Nirvana's first LP Bleach. The coveted first 1,000 white vinyl copies were distributed here. This poster is a true survivor of the historic gig considered one of the most important in American music and rock 'n' roll history.
