Item Description
1" picturing elf-like character surrounded by text "Fun Club - Ask Me" plus tiny text "The Spirit Of Good Clean Fun." Red text around rim edge reads "Clean Comics - Clean Words - Clean Shows - Clean Books." Button was made by Bastian Bros. and is complete with their backpaper. Issued to promote historic comic book launched in late 1934 under the title "New Fun" and was later titled "More Fun" becoming the early cornerstone of the DC Comics empire. For additional information on the title, see entry under "New Fun Comics" in sixth edition of Hake's Character Toys price guide. We believe this rare comic book "club" button was issued in 1935. Sixth seen in 40 years. Our last N. Mint example exceeded $3,500. This is Exc. and displays Mint. Consignor set low opening bid.
