Auction 193 - Part II
Item numbers 800 though 2307 in auction 193
Item Description
27x43" from a series by Alexander Smith & Sons, 1930s. Rug has fabric nap and features great scene of Mickey and Minnie as trapeze artists performing beneath high top circus tent. Right and left side margins each have a 1" sewn fold-back as originally produced. The nap of the rug has scattered traces of wear primarily along the narrow outer margin and a narrow line down the center. Woven in the design at lower right is "©WD" but the company label is gone from the reverse. The reverse has a name 2x6" written in black marker on an upper corner but this causes no problem. Front of the rug displays very bright and clean. Fine.
