Item Description
2.75" tall oval. Upper 40% shows frame house with small inset photo of him at lower left. Lower part of mirror shows his residence at that fateful time with text below reading in full "Col. Chas. A. Lindbergh's Boyhood Home, Little Falls, Minn. Lower View Home Hopewell, N.J. Showing Upper Lower Window From Which Baby Was Kidnapped." Cello has some air beneath it so there is a little cloudiness to the photos which are without dot pattern. There is a tiny bit of tanning at the upper left but most of the tanning on the extreme left edge is actually the metal backing which is not completely covered by the photo beneath the celluloid. Same applies to the right edge but without the slight tanning. There is some additional tanning over the text area at the bottom. Overall the piece displays about VF and is the only example we know of. Probably made in extremely small quantity and possibly made as a souvenir for sale to the crowds during the trial of Hauptmann in Flemington, NJ.
