Item Description
Large 40x61.5" poster for 1961 rematch boxing bout between world heavyweight champion Patterson and former champion Johansson. The pair fought in 1959, Johansson taking the title from Patterson. In 1960 the pair fought again, Patterson taking back the title. Third fight advertised on this poster saw Patterson retain the title. Nice bw images of both men wearing Everlast boxing gloves in fighting stance. Reads "See It Now On Film! Action Thrills In Slow Motion! Official World's Heavyweight Championship Fight Film! The Tremendous Third Bout!" Poster has 1961 United Artist Corp. copyright. Scattered wear, moisture staining at lower margin. Most wear appears in blank margins. 4x5" area of ft. moisture staining on Patterson image. Poster still displays Fine as linen-mounted.
