Item Description
Rest of the text on the 3" blue ribbon is a date of "July 3rd 1778." This and the rest of the text has lost brightness but remains easily readable. The ribbon suspends from a brass "Souvenir" bar pin. It is fastened by means of a spring pin positioned upside-down into a 1.25" button showing an Indian in a crouching, preparing to attack, position. Celluloid has tiny bit of microscopic rippling as made. An unusual piece and the date is among the earliest we've ever seen referenced on a commemorative item of this type. Only example we've seen. Rare.
