Item Description
11.75" tall segmented and jointed wooden toy with small nails features Chaplin in his famed Little Tramp persona. Body is painted bw to resemble Chaplin's suit and hat. A separate bw printed sheet cut out for his face is glued on. Separate attached wooden dowel represents cane. c. 1920s. Controlled with strings attached to arm and hip joints controlled by ivory Pyrite ring. Reverse has original label with instructions and patent number. Lightly aged with lt. dust soiling. Small hairline crack to surface of wood on one foot. Lt. oxidation to nail joints. Fine. Great design.
