Item Description
This 1.75” 1932 campaign button is listed as Hake #41. It is complete with its Philadelphia Badge backpaper. The spring pin suspends a 2.5” ribbon with the text “For/Our Fighting President.” This text refers to a movie released by Universal on April 1, 1933, about 2 weeks after FDR’s first inauguration. The movie was a biographical feature detailing the life of the newly-elected president. It was titled “The Fighting President.” We had the movie promotional button in Auction #200, item #249 but this is the first time we’ve seen this promotional ribbon. If button appears less than Mint in our photo, that was because of minor dust now removed. Both pieces are essentially Mint.
