Item Description
These ten items span 1897 through 1936. Five of the ribbons or ribbon badges include the word "Delegate" visible in our photo. Some of the fabrics have repaired splits as we will specify. The jugate from 1916 pictures "Hanly/Landrith" and this is 7/8" and NM displaying Mint. The largest item in the group is the black on red ribbon and this piece is 7" tall. The other items are to scale although we will specify the size of the celluloid where the item includes celluloid. The group begins with ribbon badge holding cello with inscription "Columbus, O./State Prohibition Convention 1897." The celluloid suspension also has a celluloid reverse with the word "Delegate" boldly printed with tiny name of maker W&H below. NM displaying Mint. Next are three ribbons joined by a safety pin. These are for "Prohibition/State Convention/Saratoga Sept. 5-6, 1902." A .5" to 1" fabric stress on the bottoms of the red and white ribbons. Clean. Next is 1.25" celluloid accented by brass frame and flag. This has stickpin reverse. Reads "Prohibition State Convention/Columbus/May 30, 1904." Next is ribbon naming the 1916 candidates. This has about a dozen .5" fabric stress hairlines but still displays very cleanly. It reads "Delegate/State Prohibition Convention/Elmyra, N.Y. Aug. 15-17, 1916/Hanly And Landrith/On To Washington." Next is ribbon badge suspending celluloid in tin frame. This was issued for "16th Annual Convention Pa. Loyal Temperance Legion/Wilkes Barre June 25-26-27-28, '07." NM displaying Mint. Next is brass bar and suspended medallion which reads "National Prohibition Convention 1908." Ribbon shows some age with small spits on left edge but still fully intact. NM luster on the brass. Next is 1.25" celluloid suspended from ribbon which has fabric stresses that have been repaired. The button collet holds it to the ribbon and it is a gorgeous full color button showing female figure with large flag against skyline that includes U.S. Capitol. Text around the inner circle reads "A Stainless Flag/A Saloonless Country." Outer rim references national convention of Anti-Saloon League of America held in Columbus, Ohio 1913. Cello is Mint. Next is 1.5" celluloid suspended by ribbon which has numerous fabric stresses that have been repaired on reverse. Button reads "National Convention Anti Saloon League Of America/Indianapolis, Ind. June 26-29 1916." Faint spot of tan tone above the shield but still displays Extremely Fine. The last button is "Pennsylvania Women's Temperance Union" showing an ear of corn. Collet holds somewhat dusty ribbon with tears on the sides for "Sixty Second Annual Convention Lebanon Oct. 1-5 1936." The celluloid is clean. A group of rare items.
