Item Description
These pieces were the personal buttons and ID badges used by Dick Lord in his race car career with the earliest dated 1954 and the last one dated 1967. Most of the buttons are 2.5". Most of the name tags are 2x3" with his name either typed or done in marker. The largest piece is a "Crew" card from 1959 at 4x6.5". The items are as follows: pit pass for 1954 Watkins Glen International Grand Prix. A 3" button with glued on paper showing age for "International Grand Prix Race 1955 Driver Watkins Glen, N.Y." A "Pit Pass/Tenth Annual Grand Prix 1957" with inked number "142." A ribbon badge for "Driver" from "Tenth Annual Watkins Glen Grand Prix" in 1957. This has scattered tan marks. Next are seven plastic encased name badges all from Watkins Glen and five of the seven saying either "Driver" or "Competitor." These are from the Fourth Glen Classic 1960. Fifth Glen Classic 1961. Sixth Glen Classic 1962, Sixteenth Annual Grand Prix 1963, Seventh Glen Classic 1963, Second Annual Glen National 500 1965, Third Annual Glen National 500 1966. Next comes a series of seven buttons with the name "Esso." These were all issued at "Cumberland Sports Car Races." These are dated for the years 1958, 1960, 1963, 1964, 1965, and 1967. All have the word "Driver" except for the duplicate design 1965 which has the word "Paddock." The example from 1963 has the driver number inked over the celluloid in magic marker. The last button reads "International Speed Weeks 1956/Patrol/Nassau, Bahamas." The final five pieces are for "Virginia International Raceway/Entrant" 1958, "Sport Car Club Of America Les Six Heuers De Marlboraux" designated "Crew" from 1959. The three smaller badges are for "Amoco/Orange Bowl National Championship Races Miami 1958"; "Sports Car Club Of America/Member/Dick Lord"; and "Sports Car Club Of America 1962 Annual Meeting."
