Nicely designed 1950's toy by Automatic Toy Co. with the hard plastic planes made by Thomas Toy. The tin litho contol tower is 4.5x6x8"tall, the planes which are attached by means of a wire rod are 3.5 to 4" in length. Box is nicely illustrated including image of a boy wearing aviator helmet and goggles playing with the toy. Toy is described on back panel of box as "Dual Speed Motor Fighter Escort Overtakes Transport in Flight/The Fighter Escort Constantly Circles, Hovering Above or Buzzing Next to the Lumbering Transport." Top flap has been reattached with clear tape on both inside and outside of back panel with some additional tape repair to inside flap and closure tab. Box remains Fine for display. Toy works and comes with original key. Exc.
