Item numbers 953 through 2651 in auction 184
Item Description
When Green Lantern first appeared in issue #16 of this title, DC had hoped they would have a solid character that would add to their growing stable of heroes. They hit the jackpot with Green Lantern. He would become so popular that DC also gave him his own solo title book. Green Lantern deserved all his success. His concept was strong (so strong that it is still very much alive in today’s marketplace), and the storytelling and artwork combined to give him real individuality in the comic marketplace. Making their final appearance in this issue is Skippy and Last Wiley of West Point. This unrestored issue contains a story by Bill Finger, story and art by Sheldon Meyer and Joe L. Blummer, and art by the creator of Green Lantern, Martin Nodell. Everything is wrapped in an unusually aggressive and powerful cover by Sheldon Meyer. The pages are white. The book is CGC-certified 8.5 (VF+). According to the CGC Census, this is the second highest graded copy they have seen.
