Item Description
She may not have been the very first woman hero in comics, but she is far and away the best and longest lasting. Wonder Woman has become an icon of strength for people everywhere around the world. It is her image that graced the first cover of Ms. Magazine. Today, she is still a very vital part of the DC Mythos and continues to hold fans entranced with the incredible history that has built around her. Thanks to the highly individualistic art of H.G. Peter, the Golden Age Wonder Woman is immediately recognizable by almost any fan. She has become an extremely successful TV show and is set to become a star on the big screen. Her presence is s central part of the Cartoon Network’s current Justice League cartoon series. In short, they don’t come any bigger than Wonder Woman. Created by a respected psychiatrist named William Moulton Marston, who also counts the invention of the lie detector among his credits, she emerged in 1941 to almost immediate public success. Moulton, an advisor to DC at the time, was concerned that the world of Superheroes was being dominated by male figures. Sensation Comics moved to mystery stories in 1952, but she continued over in her own magazine. Sheldon Moldoff also contributes interior art. The pages are cream to off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 9.4 (NM). According to the CGC Census this is the highest-graded copy they have seen. It is also recognized as being part of the Rockford Pedigree.
