Item numbers 953 through 2651 in auction 184
Item Description
Like all great Captain Marvel stories, this one features the work of Otto Binder and C. C. Beck. This title was one of the most successful promotional comics ever seen. Captain Marvel opens the book by introducing his three newest friends, Captain Caution, Speedy Ade and Sir Safety. Published in tandem by Fawcett and Ebasco Services, this public-service title lasted three issues. Since they were never numbered like a traditional comic, the books are remembered and inventoried by the name of the story each one contains. This one is referred to as Danger Flies a Kite. The 2005 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide lists this issue as scarce. The pages are cream to off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 9.4 (NM). According to the CGC Census this is the highest-graded copy they have seen. It is also recognized as being part of the Rockford Pedigree.
