Doc Savage has attained a level of popularity matched by few characters in contemporary fiction. From his first appearance in pulps back in 1933, it took him about seven years to get a comic of his own. Published by Street and Smith (also a big pulp publisher), Doc Savage and his crew found adventures on comic racks for 3 years in the early forties. This title also functioned as an anthology. Other characters appearing in this book include Cap Fury, Mark Mallory, and Ajax-the Sun Man. The feature Treasure Island ends in this issue. It also contains solid art from George Tuska. The pages are white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 8.5 (VF+). According to the CGC Census this is the highest-graded copy they have seen. It is also recognized as belonging to the Mile High Pedigree.
