L. B. Cole has created a stand-out cover for the first issue of this title. His skill is evident in the realistic depiction of an underwater battle. It really looks as if the fighters are being weighted down by the water that surrounds them. This issue also contains an appearance by the Defenders and Captain Power. This single shot has a strange publishing history. There were four published variations at the time it came out. This is the Novack version. The pages are off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 9.2 (NM-). According to the CGC Census this copy is tied with three others as the second-highest graded copy they have seen.
