Auction #211 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1196 in auction 211
Item Description
These pieces are 1.25" to 1.75" tall. First is made of white metal, next two are probably steel, and all appear to be factory made prototypes but we doubt they were ever put into production as we've seen no finished examples. First is a white metal flag with 14 rhinestones. The stripe area has 3/16" hole in the casting and a few spots of missing paint mostly at the far right edge. A metal plate appears above the flag with most of the lettering of "Willkie" still intact. A cord on the bottom edge is pulled down to reveal a spring loaded metal plate with inked inscription "Is My Man." The letter "S" and the letter "M" are faint. Reverse of the piece does have a fixed horizontal bar pin. The second piece with a flag design has the image painted on a flag shaped piece of thin metal. This is attached to a very thin vertical metal rod. When a small cord at the bottom of the flag is pulled, the flag slides down the shaft revealing a back plate with the name "Willkie" inked across the top. This piece has reverse fasteners for a pin but there is no pin attached. The third piece is a rectangular thin sheet of metal with a cardboard interior insert. There are two windows in the metal and when the cardboard is in one position there is no text showing. When the cardboard tab is pushed up the inked letters appear in the window "Willkie/O.K. With Me." Back of the piece has a pair of metal ears but no actual pin. Three possibly unique pieces.
