Auction #211 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1196 in auction 211
Item Description
These first eight pieces are each 5" tall with a celluloid designation held in a Mint brass luster hanger which suspends a 5" ribbon. In order these are "Inaugural Ball", "Inaugural Gala", "Parade." The forth reading "Program Committee" has the design in gold which is not as bright as all the others but which is still readable. In our second row titles are "Communications" (three hairline creases), "Aide," "Tickets" (one crease), "Quartermaster." Last item in the group is a 4.5" original card ink stamped "Inauguration Souvenir." It holds a 2.75" tall badge with "Souvenir" embossed brass hanger with ribbon suspending 1.25" NM medal depicting Truman on the front and listing biographical facts on the reverse along with the slogan "Harry/He's From Missouri." Largest group of official inaugural badges we have seen.
